In 2012, the desire for action and the dawn of a renaissance seemed to rise from a general sensation of chaos. With “Embracing Change”, 2013 marked the move of our contemporary societies’ towards a future ruled by empathy, singularity and collaborative pragmatic action.

However, the need for change raises the question of trust... A trust that must be strong enough to accept the responsibilities of one’s choices and lay the foundations for the future. Furthermore, as the media and their often dramatic or alarming news cycles constantly remind us, the path toward maturity is still long and uncertain.

The desire to trust the future is first revealed in our profound aspiration for a more meaningful life. Individuals open up to a SPIRITUALITY, which springs from within and is present on a day-to-day basis. A yearning for elevation and to step back permeates our relationship with a re-sanctified nature. It also invites us to discover the practice of mindfulness and to fully enjoy the present moment. It reasserts the importance of preserving memory and injects a dose of magic in a world dominated by technology.

Trusting the future, and above all trusting oneself, is also about accepting THE NEED FOR SELF-EXPRESSION. An invitation to participate in the great spectacle of the “communication society” by staging one’s life, in order to affirm one’s existence and attract others’ attention. This means unleashing our bodies’ expressivity, our multiple personalities and reaffirming our singularity. Liberating ourselves through Images, acts, words and wild performances, allows us to find creative inspiration in exaggeration, excess and outperformance.

Alternatively, being confident in the future also liberates our ability to CHOOSE NEUTRALITY AND MODERATION. Challenging our modern ,world’s obsession with hyper-connectivity, hyperactivity and egocentricity, ,some refuse public self-staging as an ultimate goal in life. Following from the digital detox phenomenon, they prefer to focus on what is essential. They ,value the need to slow down, temperance and smart idleness, timelessness and balance, without restraining their creativity, or their capacity to dare.

Last but not least, trusting the future can also be seen in our ability to believe in the POSITIVE CONTRIBUTION OF SCIENCE AND MODERN TECHNOLOGIES. This optimistic vision takes into account their ,achievements and the many changes they have brought to our lives. It means committing to future projects that are more sustainable, responsible and fair; that lead to exploring new territories and re-humanizing technologies. An evolution that restores faith in human destiny and reconciles progress and hope.
