This season more than in previous ones, Milan Fashion Week was an ode to “slow fashion”. Ciao to a theatrical exuberance, we’re back to timeless sobriety. A return to classicism with a more reasonable approach, a desire to produce sustainable fashion in clothes that tell a story without indulging in nostalgia. The iconic pieces of Italian luxury are reworked supply and in color, giving their appeal a nonchalant elegance. Designers who advocate a new, more joyous femininity with natural glamour opted for an eclectic, seductive flamboyancy that incites dreams for an immediately desirable future.

VINTAGE CLICHÉS

There’s no doubt about it, Italian fashion is sensitive to the vintage charm of the 70’s. Flowing against the tide of “fast fashion”, multiple facets from that era are reflected in silhouettes and geometric patterns as seen at Prada which retains only the essential. For Miuccia Prada, it’s all a question of “being attached to our clothes and a return to Style”. Suits with giant buttons, graphic motifs, pencil skirts and polo shirts in sensual semi-transparent fabrics illustrate a retro sobriety tinged with craziness thanks to subtle details…
