When designers take on questions of society, it is to propose their modern, optimistic visions. For Italian fashion week, though brands concentrate on their DNA and rethink their essentials and while the ecological commitment is clear – and being integrated even more – it is time to question femininity.
Designers explore the idea of female strength by paying homage to the liberation of the body – exposed or intellectualized, glamorous or minimal – yet divested of any political point of view. Almost every designer celebrated the diversity of women by sending older, rounder or unique-looking women down the catwalks … Because femininity is multiple and “is a power”.
