 The Fast-fashion giants

Big groups are accelerating the production, supply and delivery of protective health equipment to help combat the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

H&M Group has dedicated part of its production chain to protective healthcare equipment, using its extensive global network to supply masks and uniforms to healthcare workers.

the Japanese parent company of global clothing giant Uniqlo, Fast Retailing, helped by their manufacturing partners in China will provide 10 million protective masks.

In Spain, Inditex, redirected part of its production and logistics network to produce protective equipment, while Mangostarted the delivery of two million masks to hospitals across the country.

In England, John Lewis will donate essential products to hospitals: pillows, phone chargers, eye masks and hand moisturiser…

The giants of the food and cosmetics industry

Unilever provided 200,000 masks to hospitals in New Jersey, where its U.S. headquarters is located, as part of its overall contribution of more than $100 million in merchandise.

Procter & Gamble Co.  has started manufacturing protective masks for healthcare workers in more than 12 countries and cities around the world. Five sites produce more than 45,000 liters of sanitizing gel per week.  Their financial and material contribution totals $15 million.

Coty has mobilized its factories in the United States and Monaco for the manufacture of sanitary gels.

In France, faced with a shortage of masks, Auchan, Provalliance Group, which includes Franck Provost, Jean-Louis David, Fabio Salsa and Saint-Algues hairdressing salons, drew on their stocks to donate thousands of masks, gloves and sanitizers.

McDonald’s is preparing to donate 400,000 KF94 masks to the emergency operations center in the State of Illinois, their state of origin, which is close to a shortage.

The Internet giants

 Google is set to provide $800 million in assistance to small and medium-sized businesses, health organizations and governments.  340 million in free advertising space.

Facebook has created a $100 million community fund to support 30,000 small businesses on its platform.

Netflix will donate $15 million to organizations such as SAG-AFTRA’s COVID-19 Disaster Fund or the Actors Fund Emergency Assistance. A $100 million support fund has also been created to support the production teams, technical teams and actors of original Netflix productions.
