PART ONE: THE WELLBEING CAFÉ

Maison&Objet asked Peclers Paris to design the inspiration theme for its next edition (18-22 January 2024), TECH EDEN: a new natural awakening, which explores the profound evolution of the relationship between science and nature as the basis for a sustainable and desirable future. The teams of futurists and designers at Peclers Paris have set the scene in INSPIRE ME!, the show’s inspiration forum, with possible applications of this science and nature reconciliation to the hospitality sector.

GARDEN FROM THE FUTURE: HOSPITALITY UNDER THE SIGN OF BIOPHILIC ESCAPES

The Peclers Paris vision: in the medium term, visitors to hospitality venues who are looking for new forms of escape will want them to be more than just functional spaces and, for some, just spaces where to pass through. To stop them, prolong their visit and, above all, keep them coming back, the hospitality industry will be using hybridization and events to transform their venues into unique, unexpected, sensitive and versatile experiences. Well-being will be at the heart of each of these experiences, no longer as a moment ‘on the side’ but as a common thread running through life: a principle for organizing daily life, respecting biophilic rhythms: an awakening, active and regenerative phase.

AWAKENING PHASE CAPSULE: THE WELL-BEING CAFÉ

At the heart of healthcare issues, food is one of the primary levers for achieving a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The ultimate experience of this evolution is a café that is no longer just a place to meet and eat, but the epicentre of enhanced beauty.

From the light to the materials and shapes, it is designed as a holistic device to awaken the senses. It’s a space for an in and out beauty ritual that, around what we eat, invites us to an all-encompassing experience, a complete ritual of reconnection with our bodies and the world.

What will be eaten in this pace was designed by the duo Mâche&Maché, and is in itself an expression of the hybridity at the heart of these new approaches. At a time when feeding the planet is becoming a central issue for the food of tomorrow, their edible papers, which are both exceptionally nutritious and environmentally friendly, offer a unique aesthetic experience.

What’s on offer: tableware offering a new, tactile, almost cosmetic experience (Serax, Teresa Berger) or even anatomical (Ann Vincent); natural cosmetics based on edible ingredients (Superzero solid shampoo).

So mush seats in expanded cork, a virtuous material (Gencork), furniture with organic shapes (Snoop), a lamp sculpture between fruit and digital dream (forma rosa).

DESIGNERS AND CONTRIBUTORS

MÂCHE&MACHÉ

The brainchild of an industrial designer/mechanical engineer and a chef/agronomy engineer, both convinced that the future of food will lie in the revival of industrial food to serve new ways of eating, Mâche&Maché takes a fresh look at food, with experimentation as its founding principle.

GENCORK

Develops various cork products that explores the symbiosis between a low-tech ecological material and high-tech manufacturing processes. The expanded cork agglomerate, 100% natural and sustainable, is transformed by computer algorithms based on generative design, strongly inspired by biology, mathematics and geometry.

KONCEPT & MATIÈRES

Is a studio and workshop for the creation of colours and materials, and a designer of healthy, stylish homes. A family-run business, K&M also houses an R&D laboratory. Its added value? Its colour and materials expertise, creativity, recommendations and advice. Its customers? Interior fitters, interior architects, scenographers, designers and private individuals.
